THE EGG IS HERE: Byron, CA

After resting at Hollister for over a year, the EGG took a trip to Byron.

Towed to the REL1 area and found initial lift over REL2. The first portion of the flight was fast but things got slower past Henrietta. Once I made the Pinnacles Ranch turnpoint, I saw a chance to tag Big Sur but the clouds over Salinas Valley were not working and falling apart. Pretty sure I could make the west side ridge but likely not make the jump back so I headed back and got really low and slow. I was literally scraping ridges to find marginal climbs. I think the marine air was already affecting the lift over the Gabilan Range. Once I found a decent climb I ran the final glide to Hollister, grabbed the egg, and relaunched within minutes for my return flight to Byron. Thanks to Travis and Nate from HSC for a smooth transition.
