FAA Program Letters for Experimental Aircraft

Attention Owner / Operators of Experimental – Exhibition (EE) Aircraft

The Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) Region needs the accountability for EE aircraft by means of the Annual Program Letter.

Program Letters for Experimental Aircraft and Gliders are due January 31 each year

 

Aircraft Owner / Operators are required to submit a program letter for the air shows, fly-ins, that will be attending during the following fiscal year. You would be submitting the fiscal program letter during normal FSDO working hours.

For the Sacramento FSDO office the preferred method is primarily by E-mail, secondary by FAX or by letter to the FSDO POC. This list of events may be amended a necessary and acknowledge by a FAA representative or EE point of contact prior to the intended operation amendments.

Program Letter to be submitted regardless the aircraft is airworthy, not flown or non-flyable.

If you no longer own this aircraft or no longer are in our district, please inform us of this information. As a reminder in accordance with § 47.45, the FAA Aircraft Registry must be notified within 30 days for any change of the aircraft registrant address. Such notification is to be made by submitting Aeronautical Center Form 8050-1 to AFS-750 in Oklahoma City.

Please provide the above requested information to our office no later than January 31, (each year). If this office has not received your annual program letter prior to the aircraft’s Month of Date of Issue originate on FAA Form 8130-7, the aircraft will be considered in violation of the federal aviation regulations.

If you do not have Operating Limitation assigned to the aircraft in your possession, contact the FSDO POC for reissue.
