Minden Soaring Club Youth Scholarship

February - 2015

The Minden Soaring Club (MSC) Youth Scholarship is to help young pilots finance flight and ground instruction in the glider flight training school of the scholarship recipient’s choice. The Minden Soaring Club, Inc., is a nonprofit IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our mission is to promote world-class soaring in Minden, Nevada, through education, safety and proficiency, training, and community involvement.

Winners of the scholarship are selected based on their interest and enthusiasm for aviation, their academic record, and letters of recommendation. One initial scholarship will be for an amount up to $3000 to be used for flight training and instruction as detailed below. Additionally, three scholarships may be awarded for $1000 each. Recipients of the $1000 scholarships will be considered for an additional $500 upon the recommendation of the recipient’s flight instructor. The MSC Board of Trustees, or their designated representatives, will determine the number of recipients of the scholarship and the total amount to be awarded. ...
